Today we held the final of the Carols’ Trophy at Musselburgh Golf Club. Gullane Ladies’ Golf Club were the winners of Section 1 of the 5 a side competition and Winterfield Golf Club were the winners of Section 2.

Representing Gullane Ladies’ were Sarah Ledingham, Susan Corrie, Anne Blundell, Wendy Thummanond and Anne Smith. Representing Winterfield were Diane Sheffield, Rae Muir, Elspeth Haston, Seline Stewart and Judy Newton.

It was a lovely afternoon at Musselburgh Golf Club and the course was in great condition. There were some close games but it was Gullane who came out on top, with a 4 - 1 win. It was the first time that Winterfield have played in the Carols’ Trophy and they have all thoroughly enjoyed their matches during the season.

Congratulations to both clubs on reaching the final and very well done to Gullane Ladies’ Golf Club who have retained the trophy. Thank you to the two team captains, Anne Smith (Gullane) and Lorraine Laird (Winterfield), for all their hard work and support during the season. Many thanks to our President, Carole Ross, for your support today and to our Captain, Gail McKill, for your help…. And to Frances Hall for this detailed report! 😊⛳️
