Autumn Meeting – Haddington Golf Club

Thank you to Haddington Golf Club for allowing us to use their course. Unfortunately our run of good weather competitions came to an end with the late morning and afternoon starters experiencing squally showers, this resulted in rain jackets on, then off because it was too warm then on again and so on.

75 ladies competed and the winners were:

  1. Evelyn Watson, Dunbar GC – 38 points
  2. Linda Henderson, Renaissance GC – 37 points
  3. Louise Buchanan, Gifford GC – 36 points 

The winners of the Catriona Matthew Trophy were the team fromDunbar GC with 68 points (BIH) from Haddington GC.

Summer Meeting at Dunbar GC

On a dry but windy day at Dunbar 124 players took part in the ELLCGA Summer Meeting. The feedback was  very positive in that the majority of players had really enjoyed their day although there were many stories about bunkers and putting both of which proved to be tricky. Most players successfully used the Scottish Golf App to return their scores and although there were a few who had problems I have to thank the committee for managing to deal with these so patiently.

Many thanks to Dunbar GC for allowing us access to their course and special thanks to the catering staff who were kept very busy during our visit.

Commonwealth Spoons

Thank you to Castle Park for hosting the Commonwealth Spoons Competition. On a day that reminded us that we do live in Scotland and the sun doesn’t always shine, there were some very good scores and also some very cold golfers.

Three teams have qualified for the Regional Finals to be held at Baberton Golf Club on Monday 1st September.

1st: Susan Murray and Fiona Whittock – 74

2nd: Una Cooper and Laura Steedman – 75 BIH 

3rd: Shona Paton and Gwen Dun – 75
