Our matches were on their way by 11.40am this morning, and keenly contested throughout. All competitors fought hard for their match and the quality of golf played today was fantastic.

The top half of the draw saw No 1 seed, Louise Martin, having a challenging match against Ann Sewell who played steady, consistent golf. Ann eventually came out tops, winning on the 18th green. Reigning champion Alyssa Henderson took on our treasurer, Una Cooper in a great tussle which ended in a 3&2 victory for Alyssa.

In the bottom half of the draw, Jenny Sewell played some great golf against Jill McNicoll and clinched the game with a birdie on the 17th. We observed a well contested match between Ellie Bent and Dawn Young where it could’ve gone either way, but Ellie closed the match out on the 19th.

Our first game in the Handicap Quaich was between Mary Richardson and Caroline Kinnaird. Mary won the match 5&4. Game 2 saw Diane Sheffield and Angela Kerr battle it out to the 18th with Diane emerging as winner, 1up. Shona Hamilton took on Chandrika Monro, winning her match 3&2. The final pairing was Liz Mclarty and Corrine Luca, with Corrine securing the win, 2&1.
