ELLCGA match against BLCGA

On Sunday 26th March we played a 12 a side team match against the Border Ladies County Golf Association at The Hirsel Golf Club. We drove through some sleet and hail stones on the way down and wondered if it was going to be umbrellas and waterproofs for the day! After enjoying soup and sandwiches in the clubhouse, we headed to the first tee and fortunately the weather was dry.

We all enjoyed seeing the Hirsel – some of us for the first time – and all the matches were played in good spirits. After a gap of a few years due to the pandemic, it was good to re-instate the match. The afternoon stayed dry and we even enjoyed a few holes in the sunshine. The match ended in a very friendly 3 – 3 draw.

Thank you very much to the BLCGA for their kind hospitality and we look forward to seeing them in East Lothian next year.
