2020 Championship and ‘Spring Meeting”
We’re delighted to announce that we will be running a delayed ‘Spring Meeting and County Championship’ at Haddington GC on Wednesday 21 October.
Tee times will be available from 0800 until 1350, which will allow up to 108 members to play. Booking will open, via the BRS system on the ELLCGA website, at 0800 on Thursday 1 October. The entry fee will be £12.
We won’t be able to have any knock-out rounds for the County Championship and Handicap Quaich, so both these competitions will be run as a single round of stroke play – County Championship off scratch, and Quaich off handicap. No single player can win both events. In the event of a tie, both competitions will be decided by count back on the back 9, then back 6, then back 3, then final hole scores. If a tie still arises, the last 6, 3 and 1 of the first nine holes will be used.
We’re sorry about the relatively short notice, but are very grateful to Haddington GC for agreeing to make the course available to us. I hope that people will be able to book a day off work, if required, and we’re pleased that this is half term week, which should allow our juniors to enter.
As for the Autumn Meeting, we will have to run the competition in compliance with whatever Scottish Golf and Scottish Government Covid rules are in force on the day. In order to minimise the number of people present, caddies will not be permitted.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at Haddington!
